Although I was born in India, I’ve raised up in New Jersey, America most of my life. December 2014, I got the news that my family and I are all going to India to attend one of my cousins, Shruti Patel’s wedding. My heart filled with joy and the thought of reconnecting with my family members and friends was incredible. Till this day, I pick my mother’s side over my father’s side. And being able to see them after almost 10 years.. just incredible. I couldn’t put my excitment into words. Not only was I cheerful about the fact that I’m going to India, but because I lovelovelovelove traveling.
Obviously after reaching there, I was super busy due to pre-wedding shopping and dance practices. Although the first few days were so hectic, the end results were totally worth it. Dancing with family members, taking pictures, dressing up with cousins, making fun of each other, and much more.

Gujarat, India has many breathtaking places to visit for tourist. One of many, Sarangpur is my family’s dearest. It’s our temple. Even though it was my first time visiting Sarangpur, I did not felt as if I was an outsider. The people there are so lovely and welcoming, the food there is AMAZING and the place itself is gorgeous. I felt as if I was home. We spent about 3 hours there and when it was time to leave, I cried because I did not want to leave, haha
Indian food is something I die for everyday. Indian food’s known for its spices. Even thought I had a chance to eat as much as I want, I ended up ordering something continental. First few days I was okay but as soon as the spices started to kick it, I decided to go with something else. Haha, oops!
(I nearly ate out everyday. Unfortunately, I couldn’t help but dig in, so I only have this picture. Just by looking at them, I get hungry, haha!)
Overall, roaming around the neighborhood, trying new street food, as well as just spending time with friends and family was pretty entertaining. I would rewind and relive every second of it all over again if I could.
